
On the
occasion of Eid Al-Adha, Faraj Fund released a campaign to implement
initiatives to liberate insolvent inmates and bring joy to the families of
inmates.
The Faraj
Fund implemented a humanitarian campaign and initiative in partnership with
Dubai Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank that contributed with a total
value of (9,417,918) dirhams, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha leading to the
release of insolvent inmates held in penal and correctional facilities due to
financial cases which bought joy and happiness to their families and children.
His
Excellency Khalil Daoud Badran working under the supervision of the Ministry of
Interior and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Faraj Fund, explained that
the achievements on the occasion of Eid – Al -Adha included the release of 103
insolvent inmates, pointing out that the “Furejat” initiative was launched in cooperation with Dubai Islamic Bank, where
the Bank provided ( 5,000,000) five million dirhams.
His
Excellency also stated that Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank donated an amount of
1,000,000 dirhams to support Faraj Fund's strategies. The “Eidaty”
initiative was launched for the children of inmates held in penal and
correctional institutions with an amount of (60,600) dirhams, which supported
303 families. Coupons were also gifted to these 303 families on the occasion of
Eid with an amount of (287,985) dirhams.
The Fund
embodies the deeply rooted values of tolerance and brotherhood in the Emirati
society and is one of the leading models of community humanitarian work that
has effectively contributed to alleviating the suffering of inmates of penal
and correctional institutions and their families.
